Blog Assingment 6

The book I have been reading is called "Me and the Blondes" by Tersea Toten. The character that has stuck out while reading this book is Magda Kandinsky, Sophie's mother and 'mama' is the mentor of this story. She has guided Sophie through her battles she has had to face like going to a new school, meeting new friends and most other challenges a teen girl has to face in high school.

Mama kissed the top of my head. "You vill fix dem. I have high hopes, high apple pies in da sky hopes." (Teresa Toten, Me and the Blondes, page 47) Sophie's mother always is looking out for Sophie and supporting her every decision she makes. In this part of the novel Sophie was just about to attend her last basketball tryout hoping to make the team and her mother was right there beside her supporting her and her teammates. This is why I believe 'mama' is the mentor of the story because she aids and guides Sophie to make the best decisions.

-P.S.- 'Mama' is Bulgarian so the she has a accent, so no, I did not misspell my direct quote.
